Do I need to buy special NFC tags?
No. Tapped works with any standard NFC tag (NTAG213, NTAG215, NTAG216) or QR code. You can also purchase smart tag-enabled products from our partner, Charis Studios.
Can I change what a tag does after it's been programmed?
Yes — that's the whole point. Your tag points to a permanent URL on our servers. You change the destination from your dashboard anytime, and the update is live instantly. The physical tag never needs to be touched again.
Does the person scanning need an app?
No. Tapping an NFC tag works with the built-in NFC reader on any modern iPhone or Android. Scanning a QR code works with any camera app. No downloads required.
What is a "Porter"?
A Porter is what we call the physical tag — the NFC chip or QR code that carries the permanent, unique URL tied to your Tapped account. The name comes from the idea that it "carries" the connection between your physical product and the digital world.
What is Founder's Legacy?
Founder's Legacy is a permanent, per-tag benefit awarded to early adopters of Tapped. Eligible tags receive Essential-tier features regardless of the account's current subscription plan — it's our way of saying thank you to the people who believed in us early.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no contracts or cancellation fees. If you downgrade to the free plan your tags continue to work — you'll just be limited to 5 active tags.
